Homan The Font

My first ever designed typeface

This is a sans-serif typeface inspired by my handwriting on the notebook cover.

This image displays a font specimen titled "Homan's Font," showing the alphabet in thin, white sans-serif uppercase and lowercase letters against a dark blue background.

I designed this typeface using Adobe Illustrator and FontForge. The design process involved sketching the letters on paper, digitizing them in Illustrator, and then refining and spacing them in FontForge. The process was sometimes challenging. There are some characters hard to get aligned mathematically, such as "W" "G" "c" and "e". As their curves should look symmetrical but in reality they are not, if you want to make them look visually balanced.

An overhead shot of a graph notebook page clipped to a clipboard, displaying a hand-lettered custom font alphabet including letters, numbers, and symbols, with a black keyboard visible at the top.

After the typeface is finished. It gives me a lot of freedom to use it in my design works. And it actually can be shown naturally in the web pages like the following.
